About this tribute
Who maintains tommarr.com, how we handle facts, and how to reach us about a correction.
tommarr.com is an independent tribute to the Baltimore broadcaster Tom Marr (1942–2016). It is maintained by a small editorial team and is not affiliated with Tom Marr’s family or estate, with WCBM, or with the WOR Radio Network.
Why this page exists
Marr spent nearly fifty years on the air in one city — eight of those seasons calling Orioles baseball, including two World Series, and three decades hosting a weekday morning talk show. A career like that deserves somewhere clear and permanent to point to. We built this so his story stays easy to find, and so the facts of it stay straight.
How we handle facts
Everything on the biography is drawn from public records, Wikipedia and Tom Marr’s own archived website, with each source listed at the foot of the page. Three rules govern the writing here:
- Where the record is silent, we say so. His birthplace is not in our sources, so it is not on this site.
- No invented quotations. The only words we attribute to his show are the tagline printed on his own website.
- No revived politics. We do not republish the topical commentary from his 2003 homepage. This is a tribute to a broadcaster, and he is not here to put it in context.
The portrait
The photograph on this site is Tom Marr’s own publicity picture as published on his archived website, used here in a non-commercial memorial context and credited as such. Only a 108 × 140-pixel copy survives, which is why we frame it at close to its original size instead of enlarging it into a blur. Copyright most likely rests with his estate or the photographer; if that is you and you want it removed, say so and it goes.
Our editors and the hospitality guides
The same team publishes independent, hands-on guides for short-term-rental hosts — our management company and host software picks. We keep them clearly separated from the tribute for a reason: those recommendations are our own editorial opinion and have nothing to do with Tom Marr, who died in 2016 and is not associated with any company or product named on this site. Nobody pays to appear in them, and we run no affiliate programme.
Corrections and takedowns
If you are a family member, a rights-holder, or simply someone who worked with him and can document a correction, please contact us. We would rather fix a detail than defend it, and we act on removal requests promptly.
